The New Website

Kayak Fishing Ohio (KFO) did not have a strong web presence until now. There was a website but the site did not provide anything but small amounts of information. Fast forward to today, KFO has a robust website and a central hub for both information as well as registration and payments.

It was our job to prioritize and place importance by means of design what KFO offers. Being that KFO is a tournament trail, it only made sense to focus on events and event competitors. Thusly, we designed and developed a platform that is easy to navigate and find information surrounding events and standings.

Mobile First Desgin

Much like everything we do, we started with a mobile design concept. From this concepet we built out a responsive desktop version that complimented the mobile design.

Not that we need to justify ourselves because most analytics reveal comparable numbers but 60.77% of the users of this website do so with a mobile device (phone or tablet). We don't like to brag but can we say, "we told ya so"?

The Audience

Content as well as optimization of that content was also a goal. The events and standings do a fine job at a quick glance but we wanted to provide a format and structure to also produce quality content along side of the more rigid information.

With roughly 1,119 sessions every 30 days and a 12.51% bounce rate, I would say that we accomplished our goals. In the same way, over 6 pages are viewed per session. For a newer tournament trail in the state of Ohio, we consider these numbers to be more than appropriate.
