We helped DeLuca Photography optimize a theme they purchased by designing new calls to action, designing and customizing forms, optimizing speed, optimizing for search, and helping track user interactions.
When we first took on the project for DeLuca Photography, calls to action were hidden within text and hard to grasp, the homepage was limited to the browser window (no scrolling), and SEO was not working. We normally write custom WordPress themes but in this specific case, we worked with what was currently in place and that was a purchased theme that had their content in place. We helped revise content for SEO, created new calls to action, and redesigned the homepage.
We realized through data that users were frequently visiting the "Wedding Packages" page and that this specific page had a high exit rate. We first redesigned the layout of the page and then implemented forms for each of the packages so that users could contact DeLuca Photography based on what they were interested in. We have since seen an increase in form submissions and interaction on this page.
When we were handed the site, the contact page had a small form (skinny in terms of layout and hard to digest). The form was towards the bottom of the page and was somewhat hidden for that matter. We redesigned the form and implemented the new one. Since the contact form's redesign, we have seen a huge increase in general submissions. Moving the form towards the top of the page as well as making it larger and more of a focal point has increased conversions.
To help further understand how users were interacting with the site, we implemented Google Tag Manager. This helps us in numerous ways. Most importantly it gives us slimmed down, bite sized, and definitive data about how users are actually using the site. When a user clicks on a button that we have hooked into Tag Manager, we now know when they clicked on it and if they submitted a form after reaching the destination. This helped us along the way in perfecting the layout/design for individual pages based on clicks plus conversion rates.
